A manufacturer/distributor of fencing products in North America has an immediate opportunity for a second shift Maintenance Mechanic.
1.) Performs preventative maintenance on shop equipment including oiling, greasing, replacing filters, gaskets, bearings, etc.
2.) Performs non-major repairs/replacements on equipment, machinery, tools which may include disassembly and reassembly of simple to moderately complex equipment such as electric motors, engines, power tools, etc.
3.) Performs electrical repair and replacement including rewiring, running conduit, new equipment hook-up using both 220 and 440.
4.) Constructs temporary or permanent simple structures using routine carpentry skills.
5.) Performs industrial pipe fitting and plumbing including cutting pipe, installing control devices, pumps, packing, fittings, bleeds, etc.
6.) Performs maintenance and repair welding using gas and arc welding techniques including cutting, welding, brazing, soldering.
1.) 2-3 years experience as a maintenance mechanic preferably in a production manufacturing plant. Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, carpentry, etc.
2.) Able to read micrometers, calipers.
3.) Able to drive forklift.
4.) Willing to supply or provide own tools.
5.) Demonstrated maturity and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
6.) Able to work from blueprints, schematics, sketches, verbal and written instructions.
7.) Able to lift/move heavy objects occasionally.
