Overview

Master Halco, the largest manufacturer/distributor of fencing products, has an immediate opportunity for an HR Benefits Specialist.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for handling all aspects of benefits administration for the company including, but not limited to health, dental, vision, life/disability.
  • Fields benefit inquiries from employees, managers and/or vendors, to ensure a quick and courteous resolution.
  • Runs reports for auditing purposes to ensure the integrity of the data.
  • Coordinates activities and meetings with benefit carriers and brokers.
  • Coordinates annual open enrollment activities and communications for the business.
  • Manages leave requests for FML, military, LOA and other benefit related matters. Maintains FMLA/Leave of Absence records according to guidelines.
  • Handles unemployment claims, COBRA and other related benefits.
  • Processes all qualifying life events.
  • Monitors benefit trends in the business environment and must stay abreast of applicable benefit legislation.
  • Generates reports as needed for internal and vendor use.
  • Maintains employee files and records relative to benefits.
  • Performs monthly benefits reconciliations and works with vendors to ensure billing accuracy.
  • Performs clerical and administrative activities, including filing.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five (5) years of benefit administration experience required; exposure to self-insured plans preferred.
  • Strong customer support experience with health and welfare benefit plans.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to negotiate.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet established deadlines.
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude. Strong PC/Windows skills including Excel (intermediate level) and Power Point.
  • ADP WorkForce Now experience a plus.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree OR an appropriate combination of education and experience.
