 Master Halco, the largest manufacturer/distributor of fencing products, has an immediate opportunity for an Director of Marketing. The Director of Marketing will be responsible for the managerial and functional work involved in conducting the marketing activities, including marketing research, product and pricing strategy, involvement in product development, marketing administration, advertising and sales promotions, customer service and public relations.


  • Works with V. P. of Sales & Marketing in the development of the corporate long-range strategic marketing plan and the development of the annual marketing plan and budgets.
  • Working with the Product Managers, coordinates product development activities, collaborating with supply, manufacturing and external vendors to insure continuity of the program and compliance with company policies, strategies and objectives.
  • Works with V. P. of Sales & Marketing and Marketing Communications Manager to implements advertising, merchandising and sales promotion activities consistent with and in support of the company's sales objectives and marketing plan.
  • Formulate, direct and coordinate marketing activities and policies to promote products and services, working with advertising and promotion managers.
  • Works with all Product Managers, to ensure that all product and services literature are accurate and up to date. Also manages the inventory and distribution of literature to the field.
  • Works with Marketing Specialist to explore all meaningful digital marketing options and formulates and executes a plan for building a complete digital foot print.
  • Works with Marketing Specialist to develop a website strategy linked to Social Media that allows us to digitally reach our traditional contractor as well as direct marketing to the end owner of our installed products.
  • Assures appropriate marketing content on company's intranet site.
  • Identify, develop, or evaluate marketing strategy, based on knowledge of establishment objectives, market characteristics, and cost and markup factors.
  • Direct the hiring, training, development and performance of all marketing positions within the department. Conducts annual performance reviews for all direct reports.
  • Evaluate the financial aspects of product development, such as budgets, expenditures, research and development appropriations, or return-on-investment and profit-loss projections.
  • Compile lists describing product or service offerings.
  • Initiate market research studies or analyze their findings.
  • Use sales forecasting or strategic planning to ensure the sale and profitability of products, lines, or services, analyzing business developments and monitoring market trends.
  • Coordinate or participate in promotional activities or trade shows, working with developers, advertisers, or production managers, to market products or services.
  • Consult with buying personnel to gain advice regarding the types of products or services expected to be in demand.
  • Conduct economic or commercial surveys to identify potential markets for products or services.
  • Select products or accessories to be displayed at trade or special production shows.
  • Consult with product development personnel on product specifications such as design, color, or packaging.
  • Advise business or other groups on local, national, or international factors affecting the buying or selling of products or services.
  • Confer with legal staff to resolve problems and makes sure that all business affairs within marketing are maintained legally sound and protects the interest of the company. This includes issues with product liability, truth in advertising, warrantees, anti-trusts guidelines, trademarks, copyright and patent opportunities.
  • Consult with buying personnel to gain advice regarding environmentally sound or sustainable products.
  • Recommend modifications to products, packaging, production processes, or other characteristics to improve the environmental soundness or sustainability of products.
  • Provides effective leadership within the marketing function through team building, associate empowerment, effective communications, and associate development.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business or related field required, Master's Degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing as Manager or higher level role
  • Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills that provide ability to interact with the most senior levels of the organization
  • Exceptional project management skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Exceptional understanding of budget management and mathematical and analytical skills
