Master Halco is North America's leading manufacturer and wholesaler of perimeter security and fencing. Master Halco is seeking an experienced Purchasing Specialist.
1.) Qualify and select suppliers capable of delivering the best value for the assigned material categories.
2.) Negotiate directly with suppliers at an appropriate level
3.) Identify, develop and lead cost savings projects to achieve assigned savings targets.
4.) Lead, direct and manage subordinates and other related associates involved in procuring assigned materials, goods, and services. Maintain good working relationships with associates in related departments.
5.) Visit suppliers and hold supplier review meetings to drive improved supplier performance in cost, quality, service, innovation, fit, and long-term competitive advantage for Master Halco.
6.) Develop strategic business relationships with key suppliers.
1.) B.S./B.A. degree or equivalent experience.
2.) Minimum 5-7 years in purchasing or related field.
3.) Experience managing multiple subordinates.
4.) C.P.M. or C.P.I.M. highly desirable.
5.) Travel up to 40%.
6.) Strong record of management skills.
7.) Ability to work in a team environment and to work with all levels of associates. 8.) Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
9.) Strong computer skills.
