    Master Halco, is one of the nation's largest wholesale distributors of fencing products The Wood Business Development Manager is responsible for selling our wood products to professional fence contractors and quality building materials retailers, at the customer's place of business or our sales offices. This also includes the development, introduction, business analysis, conception, development and marketing of our wood products.  

     

    Responsibilities

    • Contact regular and prospective customers to demonstrate wood products, explain product features, and solicit orders.  
    • Recommend products to customers, based on customers' needs and interests.  
    • Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability, and product uses. 
    • Estimate or quote prices, credit or contract terms, warranties, and delivery dates.
    • Consult with clients after sales or contract signings to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support.
    • Provide customers with product samples and catalogs.
    • Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences.  
    • Monitor market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices, and sales.
    • Perform administrative duties, such as preparing sales budgets and reports, keeping sales records, and filing expense account reports.
    • Prepare sales contracts and order forms. Forward orders to corresponding DC for processing.
    • Establish and monitor quotation activities with follow-up system to track sales opportunities.
    • Conducts research and market study and uses aggressive sales practices and products promotion. Actively seeks and reports competitor/market intelligence, changes in market or customers, new products or customer services/capabilities.
    • Travels with Branch Managers or Territory Managers throughout their assigned territory to call on existing and prospective customers on development of new product(s) and/or to solicit orders, or talks with customers on sales floor or by phone. 
    • Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
    • Responsible for sales volume and margin of assigned wood product(s).
    • Responsible for the successful introduction of new products to our clients and for creating marketing promotions to push/pull wood products. 
    • Develop Corporate long-range marketing plan relative to wood products.
    • Develop new products and packaging that allows entry into new markets.
    • Actively seeks and reports competitor/market intelligence, changes in market or customers, new products, or customer services/capabilities. 

    Qualifications

    Preferred for candidate to have an associate's Degree (two year college or technical school): or Work Equivalent. Two plus years of experience in sales. To perform the job succesfully, the individual should have knowledge of internet software, sales/presentation software, spreadsheet software and word processing. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions and proportions.
