  • Overview

    Master Halco, the largest manufacturer/distributor of fencing products, has an immediate opportunity for a Purchasing Specialist. The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for managing the supplier relationships for assigned commodities, monitoring DRP reports for inventory requirements, placing of purchase orders in a timely matter, monitoring of open purchase orders to insure timely delivery/ dating is correct and  performance and corrective actions of suppliers.


    1.) Review materials requirement and placement of purchase orders and resolve any discrepancies.

    2.) Monitor open purchase order commitments.

    3.) Maintain the Purchasing system with current supplier schedule data.

    4.) Analyze and communicate with suppliers on corrective actions for problem areas and follow-up measures to ensure completion.

    5.) Develop & implement cost saving ideas.

    6.) Track milestones for assigned commodities and take actions to meet schedules.


    1.) Two (2) years of purchasing experience.

    2.) Excellent computer skills are necessary, along with good analytical skills.

    3.) Must have strong customer service and quality orientation. Good verbal, presentation and negotiation skills.
