Responsibilities

  • Generate MO’s (Manufacturing Orders) for the production floor
  • Verify inventory availability for MO’s being generated
  • Generate transfer of materials via DO’s (Distribution Orders) between branches
  • Generate PO’s (Purchase Orders) for materials not available for production
  • Distributes work orders to production floor  
  • Verifies BOM’s (Bill of Materials) to make sure orders are accurate before releasing them to the production floor
  • Gives production order updates during daily production meetings
  • Notifies the production manager when drawings or BOM’s are incorrect
  • Allocates the correct work centers to ensure routing is correct in the system
  • Makes changes as needed to the production plan to ensure orders are being processed on a “by ship date” priority level
  • Evaluates times for materials delivery to ensure that materials are available when work orders are released to the production floor

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or business management or equivalent working experience
  • 2+ years' experience in manufacturing planning or supply chain materials mgmt
  • 2+ years' using MRP or ERP software (Infor M3 experience a plus)
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and quality systems preferred 
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent communications and organizational skills
