Position Summary

The Woodshop Associate is responsible for making wood panels according to the requested requirements. The role performs simple operations on cut lumber including framing and making wood panels, dog-earing, trimming using table saws, nail gun, and additional wood working machinery.

Responsibilities

Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

Jobs responsibilities to include but not limited to:

  • Assembles wood panels by placing pre-cut lumber in frames and fixing with nail gun
  • Trims and dogears (picket point) lumber using table saws and trimming machines
  • Performs housekeeping on wood manufacturing area and simple maintenance on equipment
  • Controls waste and rework of wood materials
  • Adheres to all safety procedures
  • Keeps own and adjacent work areas clean
  • Special projects as assigned

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Ability to assess the quality of woodwork and materials
  • Ability to operate tools, machines, and other equipment
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods, climb, pull, and lift heavy objects
  • Good hand-eye coordination
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mathematics and basic carpentry

 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • Experience with wood processing machinery
  • Experience using carpentry tools to include tape measure, nail gun, table saw, cutting equipment

 

Work Environment: Exposed and subject to outside environmental conditions, such as cold, wind, heat, and humidity. The noise level is moderate to loud.

Setting for this job: general warehouse and/or outdoor environment

 

Physical Demands: This job requires the ability to sit, climb, stand, lift and/or move. Ability to lift up to 50lbs. Any lifting exceeding this weight, team lifting is recommended.

 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday. This position at times requires long hours.
