Overview

Master Halco: Fence & Deck Supply, North America’s leading manufacturer/distributor of fencing and perimeter security products is seeking a Manufacturing Specialist 1 willing to complete training, if necessary, to become a wire draw machine operator at our plant working Second Shift (Monday - Thursday 3:30pm to 2am).

 

This position will work under limited supervision operating moderately complex equipment in the continuous-operation manufacturing of strand wire into woven chain link fence. 

Associate will also be responsible for the sets-up, operation, and inspecting for quality and troubleshooting problems.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up wire drawing machine with correct tooling and sizes, retrieving coils of rod to continually feed machine with material
  • Monitors machine performance, correcting minor problems such as wire breaks, tangles, and size fluctuations. Reports major problems to Supervisor or Maintenance
  • Unloads finished product from machine and affixes material handling tags
  • Performs regular quality inspections of finished material for defects
  • Drives forklift to move raw and finished materials
  • Cleans and resets work area at end of day to prepare for next shift

Qualifications

  • Able to physically lift 75+ lbs. regularly
  • Desired experience with metal forming machines such as extrusion presses and/or CNC
  • Ability to work overtime (including weekends) as needed
